Resident fundraising means windsock has returned to seafront

Members of the Lee Residents Association raised funds for a new windsock after the previous one was taken down, saying that it is an '˜important part of the seafront'.
Stuart Ashworth from the Lee Residents Association said: '˜The windsock disappeared around the middle of last year, so we started a campaign to get it back.

Hide Ad'˜It's something that people use a lot for sailing and so on and for people to have it back is a great feeling.
'˜At the end of the day it is just a windsock but it is nice to not only have a landmark back , but also to return something that held a lot of importance to people.'
