Cook felt the performance at Gresty Road had positives to take – as well as plenty to work on. A strong start in each of the halves were among the plusses, and the Blues boss felt the outcome was a fair one. Cook said: ‘There were things which were pleasing and others that weren’t so much. ‘We started well and I was satisfied with how we went about the first 25 minutes. ‘We maybe lost our way a bit after that and then started the second half well. ‘People will have their opinions but I think a draw was a fair result. ‘We’re two games in, though, and a win against Morecambe on Tuesday will make it a good start.’ There is concern tonight, however, for Jack Whatmough who came off with a knee injury – after suffering a cruciate injury last year. Cook said: ‘We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Jack.’
