Portsmouth council chief calls on city companies to join scheme helping disabled into work
The call has been made by Portsmouth City Council leader Gerald Vernon-Jackson, who wants more firms to become Disability Confident employers.
It sees companies hiring employees referred to them under the Department for Work and Pensions’ work and health programme.

It’s already proven a big hit in Portsmouth, with Amberley Security and Lily & Lime among the companies already backing the scheme. Both were named joint winners at the Portsmouth Employer of the Year Award 2019. For details, call 02392 322800.
