Driver rescued by firefighters after two-car crash closes busy Portsmouth junction near Gunwharf Quays

The front of a Ford was badly damaged in the collision at the junction of Burnaby Road and Park Road near Gunwharf Quays, just before 5pm.
A picture from the scene taken by police shows the battered Ford left diagonal across both sides of Burnaby Road, with its airbag triggered.

Hide AdBehind it, firefighters surround another vehicle facing the pavement in Park Road, which leads to the Gunwharf Quays entrance at Vernon Gate.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Southsea was called to the scene at 4.46pm and rescued a driver trapped in one of the two cars.
Roads police on Twitter said multiple road closures were put in place while the accident was dealt with and there were ‘no serious injuries’.
Firefighters were originally called to the scene by South Central Ambulance Service.
