Pompey have dropped to eighth in the table after the latest round of League One fixtures.

Charlton’s 6-0 thrashing of Plymouth Argyle at Home Park sees the Blues slip a position, after their dreadful 3-1 defeat to Swindon Town.

But there was some positive results for the Blues’ play-off hopes despite the inadequacies of their own display at the County Ground.

Blackpool’s 16-game unbeaten run came to an end when they were defeated 1-0 at struggling Rochdale.

And Oxford United were beaten 2-1 at AFC Wimbledon, as Karl Robinson’s side also fell out of the top six.

That leaves Pompey a single point behind Charlton who occupy the final play-off spot - but Nigel Adkins have played a game less than Danny Cowley’s side.

Blackpool remain in fifth with three more points than the Blues’ 65-point total - having also played a game less. Oxford are on the same points total as Pompey having played two games more.

Gillingham are three points behind in ninth having played a game more than Cowley’s men.
