Campbell and James keep England places
SOL CAMPBELL and David James have retained their places in England's squad ahead of a crunch month for the national side.
The Pompey duo were called on by England boss Steve McClaren once again ahead of a friendly in Austria and the final Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia.
With Rio Ferdinand suspended and John Terry injured, Campbell could play a key role, while David James will battle it out with Paul Robinson for the number-one jersey.
David Beckham has earned a recall after recovering from injury.
If Russia win in Israel and Croatia avoid defeat in Macedonia on November 17, England cannot qualify for Euro 2008 even if they beat Croatia four days later.
England play Austria in the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna next Friday, then face Croatia at Wembley on Wednesday, November 21.
Full squad: Robinson, Carson, James, P Neville, Campbell, Richards, Brown, Lescott, Shorey, Bridge, A Cole, Beckham, Wright-Phillips, Bentley, Gerrard, Lampard, Hargreaves, Barry, J Cole, Downing, Young, Smith, Crouch, Defoe, Rooney, Owen.
