Members of staff from Portsmouth contact centre The Listening Company proved that work can be enjoyable, motivational and rewarding as they took part in a company-run five-a-side football tournament.
The annual event saw more than 65 colleagues taking part, with many others cheering from the sidelines in an action-packed and entertaining competition.

Ten teams took part, with men and women of all ages enjoying the the day.

The eventual winners were defending champions Travelodge, who beat B2B Team C 6-3 in the final.

The five-a-side competition was the latest of many events The Listening Company has organised to help reward staff and offer them out-of-office opportunities for team building.

Team manager Sam Spratt, who helped organise the competition, said: 'The day was a real success. It was extremely hot, which didn't help some of the players who hadn't played for a while. But I think it gave us all the opportunity to come together outside of our office teams.'

Managing director David Murray added: 'This year we've had several fun days raising money for the Elizabeth Foundation, taken part in the Blue2Day event and held an X Factor-type talent show.

'We're eager to reward our staff and also give them opportunities to socialise with colleagues.

'The five-a-side competition is another way of providing outside of office camaraderie. We've also got a big summer party planned and a huge charity fund-raising skydive for those brave enough to take part.'
