Staff at a local company put in an impressive rowing effort to raise money for charity.
Employees from Havant firm Xyratex took part in the event to raise money for the Elizabeth Foundation.

More than 34 people from the company jumped on rowing machines to row 100km – the equivalent of going around the Isle of Wight.

Alison Robinson, from the Elizabeth Foundation, said the event was a huge success: 'The atmosphere down there was lovely. It was a really nice day. I really felt that people had gone that extra mile to raise money for us which was fantastic.'

There were also many other charity events which took place to raise money, including raffles, online auctions and cake sales.

More than £1,000 has been raised for the charity so far, and the total is expected to rise.
