Kate Weston is the travel presenter on the Tea Time Show on Wave 105.
Name: Kate Weston
Job title and company: Travel presenter, Wave 105
Job description: To collate and present traffic and travel information, and co-host the Tea Time Show.

How long have you been in your current role?
I joined Wave 105 in December 2004. Prior to that I worked at AA Roadwatch in London, and presented the Wave 105 travel bulletins from their studios.

How did you get into your job, and why?
When AA Roadwatch was 'wound up', Wave 105 asked me to join the station.
By that time I knew the region well, which is a must when you're dealing with roads covering such a large area.
Also, the listeners knew me, and I got on brilliantly with the Tea Time Show presenter, Andy Jackson, so it felt like the perfect next step.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I especially enjoy the live on-air interaction. Nothing is rehearsed, and every day is different.
Television is usually pre-recorded, and is nowhere near as much fun.

...and not like about it?
I get very frustrated when sources give me information which is incorrect.
I hasten to add, I'm not referring to our listeners.
They regularly call in with travel news, and are often the very best source of information, as they're 'on the spot'.
