GRANTS of up to £500 are being offered for a one-off activity, new piece of equipment, or community activities by a local authority.

The scheme, run by Winchester City Council which covers Denmead, Bishop’s Waltham, Wickham and Whiteley, aims to make grants available to local voluntary and community groups.

Melissa Fletcher, funding & development officer, said: ‘The small grants are an essential source of funding for groups who just need a little bit of money for an activity or piece of equipment. We have a very healthy demand for this type of funding, where possible we try to support as many applications as we can.’
