YOUNG people who want to learn more about the aviation industry are being invited to Farnborough Air Show next week.

Phil Boyle, the Segensworth-based chairman of the Royal Aeronautical Society, will be helping to run a series of workshops from next Friday to Sunday.

They will be designed for youngsters aged up to 12, as well as for older people.

He said: ‘We’re not there as a trade body, we’re there simply to try to encourage youngsters to get interested in aircraft.’

The show will feature one of Boeing’s new Dreamliner planes, partly built in Fareham, and Virgin Galactic will be showing off its aircraft designed for space tourism.
