NEW research reveals that 4,895 mid-sized businesses across the south-east are open to funding themselves without the help of banks.

A Grant Thornton survey shows that about four-fifths of respondents are now inclined towards non-bank lenders.

The most popular source of non-bank finance available to businesses is credit funds.
