THE date of another meeting being held over plans to earmark land for new homes has been confirmed.

Milton Neighbourhood Forum will get together to talk about the future of the St James’ Hospital site on Wednesday, September 17.

The discussion will be held at Mary Rose School, Gisors Road, Milton, from 7pm.

As reported, Portsmouth City Council is looking to advertise the hospital site as a good location for 435 family houses, and a decision will be made following a consultation now being carried out.

Janice Burkinshaw, forum chairwoman, said she hopes the Tory cabinet will consider advising developers that fewer homes should be built – as the Lib Dems have previously pushed for.

The first meeting is at St James Church from 6pm on September 4.
