STAFF at Mountjoy building and maintenance in Portsmouth are celebrating the success of their Apprenticeship and Work Experience Scheme.

One apprentice has qualified, two new recruits have been appointed, and a candidate has started work experience.

Daniel Locke, 25, of Portsmouth, is the third apprentice to qualify under the scheme.

He gained his NVQ Level 2 qualification as a carpenter in January, having joined Mountjoy in 2009. He has been working as a labourer on the waste removal vehicle for the Portsmouth City Council repairs and maintenance contract.

The company is also welcoming new recruit, Shamain Brogan, an apprentice business administrator, and Oliver Bowns who is trialling at the firm before his appointment as an apprentice construction manager.
