ROLLS-ROYCE Motor Cars’ new model, made in Goodwood, has won an award for excellence.

The Wraith was named as Rather Splendid Motor Car of the Year by BBC TopGear Magazine.

The prize was won after motoring editor Ollie Marriage drove the car 951 miles from his home in England to the car’s international media lunch in Vienna, Austria in one day, arriving in time for dinner.

This is not the first time Rolls-Royce has been honoured this year.

The car was awarded the Walpole Award for Excellence in the British Luxury Brand category.

Meanwhile, the Centenary Alpine Trial won Best Rally of the Year at the International Historic Motoring Awards.
