ENTREPRENEUR Helen McCusker has been crowned Young Business Person of the Year in the Inspire Business Awards 2012.

Helen set up her book publicity agency Booked PR in Waterlooville four years ago, aged 25, following an early career as a local radio presenter, and has seen the business – now based in Petersfield – flourish.

She said: ‘Winning this award is an absolute honour.

‘I’ve worked hard and proved that it can be done if you have passion and drive.’

The Inspire Business Awards highlight successful companies in north Hampshire, allowing leading business people to gain the recognition they deserve.

The Young Business Person of the Year category rewards people under 30 who have used their initiative to successfully operate in business and demonstrate entrepreneurial skills.

Helen is now sharing her skills, by becoming a mentor with the University of Portsmouth’s Start-Up Programme.
