PORTSMOUTH is producing champions of its own during the Olympics, with four employees from Southern Gas Network winning awards.

Steve Powell and Dave Dawkins picked up the Community Champion gong at the company’s Outstanding People Awards ceremony in Glasgow for their fundraising activities.

Another winner was Joanne Kingsbury, who received the Unseen Hero award for her pride and commitment in the company.

Meanwhile, Gary Taylor picked up the Most Inspirational Manager award.

A total of 160 employees from across the company’s workforce were shortlisted for 14 award categories.

The aim of the competition, held for the first time this year, is to recognise excellence and reward commitment.
