THE first entry has been received for The News’ Business Excellence Awards.

This year’s awards are bigger than ever before, with a host of brand-new categories to suit all our local businesses, whether large or small, retailer or manufacturer.

Our sponsors include BAE Systems, Portsmouth Property Association, Coffin Mew, Portsmouth City Council, and Alphi.

We’ve expanded the categories to include Apprentice of the Year, Retailer of the Year, Start-up of the year and we have a category for Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure, and have combined other categories.

And for the first time, each of the winners in our 12 categories will go head-to-head for the chance to be crowned overall Business of the Year.

Not only that, but each of the category winners will also be automatically entered into the prestigious Southern Business Awards.

To enter the awards, see portsmouth.co.uk/enterbusinessawards.

Nominations can either be emailed or sent to Emma Judd at The News.

Nominations close on December 30.
