BEER lovers will soon be treated to a range of great ales at a pub’s annual festival.
Queen’s Hotel, in Queen’s Road, Gosport, will have around 30 different brews on offer from Friday, October 24, to Sunday, October 26.
Beers will come from Gosport’s Oakleaf Brewing Company as well from other breweries around the country.
Twelve beers will run on stillages by the dart board and another six will be on the pumps and be rotated.
A selection of cider will be available during the popular event, which is in its 15th year.
And rolls with tasty fillings will be rustled up by the pub for hungry visitors on the Saturday.
The event starts at 4.30pm on the Friday and will wrap up at 11pm on the final day.
Sue Lampon, who has been the landlady of Queen’s Hotel for 31 years, said her customers make the event such a big success – and expects most of the beer to be finished off once again.
‘My customers want it,’ she said.
‘It’s a nice thing to have every year, it’s something a bit different.
‘People like variety.’
Talking about how it all started, Sue said: ‘My customers came to me one day and said; “why don’t you do a beer festival?” and that’s how it started.
‘I have done one ever since.
‘It’s the atmosphere that makes it, and people just want to come along each time and support it.
‘It’s not just attended by regulars.
‘People come from as far as Southampton and Eastleigh.
Sue added: ‘The pub is a real ale pub and because we have got these beers, people come along to celebrate that.
