Christopher is best-known for his roles as James Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small and Mac McGuire in the BBC soap opera Doctors.

He announced the winner as Gina Trusler, administration manager at the Chichester depot, for her chocolate sweetie delight cake.

After the competition an array of homemade treats
was sold in order to raise money. The proceeds will contribute to the final fundraising target of £25,000, which will be split between 11 hospices.

Rupert Green, chairman at Covers, said: ‘Congratulations to Gina and thank you to Mr Timothy and everyone who supported the bake off and helped to raise vital funds for these exceptional charities.’
