A company held a charity Christmas ball and raised £2,588 in aid of The Rowans Hospice.

The event was organised by Novaseal, a Fareham-based plastic manufacturer, which was inspired to host the night when a recently-retired colleague was treated at the Purbrook hospice.

TV presenter Fred Dinenage hosted a raffle and auction.

Event organiser Bryony Pollard said: ‘We wanted to make a gesture by raising money for this hospice who do such vital work.

‘I understand how important it is to minimise many of the constraints which are inevitably part of hospital care. Places like The Rowans Hospice aim to provide a home-like atmosphere which promotes rest and recuperation.’
