A CHARITY will receive a boost after being chosen as an official partner by a bank.

TSB has announced The Rowans Hospice as the Bank’s first local charity partner for Fareham, Ports-mouth, Hayling Island, and Petersfield branches.

The partnership was unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Councillor Frank Jonas, who presented the charity with a £400 donation from TSB to kick-start their partnership at The Rowans Hospice.

Instead of having a centrally chosen charity of the year, TSB partners across Britain will support local causes.

The Rowans Hospice was nominated for the work it does in Portsmouth and surrounding areas by offering palliative care during terminal illnesses while supporting families.

TSB’s branches in Fareham, Portsmouth, Hayling, and Petersfield will now aim to raise as much money as possible for the hospice throughout 2015.

TSB is also encouraging its partners to spend a day, when they would normally be working, out in their community supporting their local charity partner with their time and skills.
