AN ENVIRONMENTALLY aware beauty salon is celebrating its first year in business.

The Pretty Green Natural Salon, in Elm Grove, Southsea, was set up by Nicole Rosier, who after 14 years in the industry wanted to give her customers something a bit different.

She said: ‘I opened the salon because I wanted to put my own stamp and creativity on things.

‘People are becoming more aware about the different chemicals in beauty products and I wanted to show them the benefits of using organic and natural hair care products but without the expensive price tag.’

The salon also gets its electricity from wind farms, and reuses and recycles as much as it can – even offering hair trimmings to local gardeners to use in composters.

The salon is proving popular and has also expanded in the past year to offer a range of organic beauty treatments as well as a hair cuts.
