Engineers begin ‘unique’ restoration project to preserve HMS Victory

THOUSANDS of homes lost electricity after a power cut caused by a fault on a main line.

Around 9,000 homes in Hedge End and Bishop’s Waltham lost heat and light after the power cut at around 7pm yesterday.

Southern Electric said the high number of homes affected was due to it being a fault on the main high voltage line.

Engineers were sent to the scene and were able to bring the power back in stages.

All power was restored by 10pm.
