A NIGHTCLUB in Gunwharf Quays lost £50,000 worth of business when security officers were forced to evacuate the shopping precinct after an unexploded bomb was found in the harbour.
Punters were forced to leave Tiger Tiger early last night as explosive experts removed the 500kg Second World War bomb.
Dan Swan, club manager, said it would take weeks to recoup the loses.
He said: ‘Of course the safety of those surrounding the harbour and visiting Gunwharf Quays is paramount and we were keen to cooperate with the evacuation and early closing of the site, but unfortunately it was pretty bad timing for the business.
‘The start of the university term, the launch of our new restaurant menu and the fact this was one of our biggest nights of the week will have had a huge impact at a crucial time of the year, so we are now going to be working very hard to catch up over the forthcoming weeks.
