Portsmouth’s bid for UK City of Culture title named ‘strong’ as shortlist delayed

ONE million pounds has been set aside by a council to be spent on boosting jobs.

East Hampshire District Council is creating new business premises with the rental income re-invested in the local economy through apprenticeship programmes.

Ferris Cowper, leader of the Petersfield-based authority, said: ‘The £1m investment will deliver much-needed business space and drive forward economic growth.’
