A BUILDING firm has supplied free ear defenders for Pompey fans with autism.

The Portsmouth depot of Covers Timber and Builders Merchants, on Norway Road, has given the ear defenders after teaming up with The Pompey Disabled Supporters Association and Portsmouth Autism Support Network.

Fans with autism spectrum disorder can often get distressed by the crowd noise at a football stadium, reducing their enjoyment of the game.

Dale Lambourne, depot manager, said: ‘Being avid Pompey supporters, Covers were only too happy to provide the ear defenders to fans with ASD, so that they can enjoy the matches as much as we do.’
