THE Gosport Monday Club has been awarded a £300 grant from the Businesses Supporting Older People fund.

The fund is administered and managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation, and is fed by local firms.

The Gosport Monday Club was one of 10 organisations to benefit in the county.

Councillor Felicity Hindson, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for Adult Social Care, said: ‘I am delighted that the fund is proving to be such a success.

‘The grants are supporting small groups making a real difference in their local communities.

‘All of the groups demonstrated that a grant would assist them in becoming sustainable and enable them to increase their membership, therefore reducing isolation and loneliness at a local level.’
