THE Basepoint business centre in Gosport has handed a cheque for £1,410 over to its annually-nominated charity, Home Start Gosport and Fareham.

Half the money was raised through a series of fundraising events, and the other half was match-funded by the business centre’s parent company, the Act Foundation.

The charity supports parents with at least one child under the age of five who are dealing with issues such as isolation, mental health, sickness, disability, domestic abuse, multiple birth or difficult relationships.

Andrew Weston, centre manager for Gosport Business Centre, said: ‘We’re pleased that this donation will help volunteers to continue their valuable work in the local community and we are looking forward to doing more with the organisation, including a family fun day in August.’
