BUDDING entrepreneurs can get a helping hand into the business world through a new scheme called ‘Stop Dreaming Start Believing’.

Businessman Stuart Mundy has launched the free advice and consultancy service, along with a competition that has a prize worth £10,000.

Mr Mundy said he knew what it was like to go into business with nothing but a dream.

He said: ‘I started in business seven years ago with nothing and I’ve built up a diverse portfolio.

‘I’ve been there, done that and made the mistakes.’

Mr Mundy is the director of the Fareham-based SDM Corporation Ltd and his businesses interests include web design and management, a coffee shop and a hair and beauty salon.

He said he hoped people would take advantage of Stop Dreaming, Start Believing to launch their businesses.

He said: ‘They can come and meet my team and get all the support they need regarding accounting and VAT, whether they should set up as a sole trader or as a limited company and how to register their company name.

‘We can really provide them with a step-by-step approach on how to get things going and turn their dream into a real business.’

Mr Mundy said he could even help people apply for funding through a new government start-up loan scheme.

To mark the start of Stop Dreaming, Start Believing, Mr Mundy is also launching a competition.

One new business owner will win £10,000 of marketing in return for a 25 per cent stake in any new start-up business.

‘If anyone has a business idea that needs a bit of support then we want to hear from them.

‘It will be a bit of a Dragons’ Den type concept and it is open to any business idea.

‘Not only will they get £10,000 worth of marketing but they will also get myself on board as a dedicated business coach and mentor.’
