A CAREER service has been given a cash boost from Land Securities, which owns Gunwharf Quays.

Peter Emery, director of Gunwharf, handed a cheque for £2,000 to Kevin Smith, chief executive of Young Chamber UK, at Mayfield School.

The money will be used to fund the Young Chamber’s 5th Matrix service, an online careers service which is available free to all schools.

Mr Emery said: ‘Land Securities’ vision is to make a difference to everyone we work with and in all the actions we take.

‘It is about being a sustainable company that people want to work with and adds value in everything it does.

‘The approach from Young Chamber UK fits this vision by enabling us to help invest in the future through supporting such an important organisation in the work that they do in developing young people.’
