THE NEW manager of Cascades Shopping Centre has been announced.

The team behind the complex has appointed Andrew Philip as its new centre manager.

Andrew has worked at the site for almost two years, originally stepping into the role in an interim capacity after long-running operations manager Rhoda Joseph left for pastures new this year.

Following extensive interviews against external candidates, Andrew has been appointed as the new centre manager.

Andrew said: ‘I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity,

‘Since joining the centre just over two years ago, I’ve enjoyed tackling the various challenges that a shopping centre of this size brings with it, and it’s been a fantastic experience.

‘During my time as operations manager, I was fortunate to be able to learn from such an experienced centre director as Rhoda.

‘She really helped me understand what is involved with the day-to- day running of such a popular retail destination.’

Andrew began his career in facilities and operations management at Whiteley Shopping Centre before being offered the chance to step in at Cascades, which he said was a position too good to turn down.

Andrew said: ‘The chance to work at a centre the size of Cascades with a great team was something I couldn’t pass up.

‘One of my proudest moments here has been being able to save an Olympic-sized swimming pool’s worth of water and bringing a range of environmentally-friendly initiatives to Cascades.

‘I’m excited to be working with the great team around me to make sure we play our part in ensuring the centre and the retail experience here not only meets but exceeds the needs of the people of the city.’
