AN EXTRA £10,000 has been given to a scheme set to improve a town centre.

Gosport’s Town Team has boosted the already announced £170,000 plans to revamp High Street, Gosport.

A meeting of the Town Team, which aims to rejuvenate the town centre, agreed on Tuesday to spend the cash.

It will come from part of the £110,000 fund it has been given by government.

The cash will add to the £170,000, which is made up from a grant of £85,000 from the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire. The rest of the cash is match-funded from other sources.
