A BUSINESS centre in Gosport has raised almost £500 for a local charity after a series of events.

The Basepoint-operated Gosport Business Centre has given a cheque for £497.46 to its chosen charity, Home-Start Gosport and Fareham, which supports parents with at least one child under five who are dealing with issues such as isolation, mental health, sickness, disability, domestic abuse, multiple birth or difficult relationships.

The charity was nominated by staff at the business centre, and money raised was matched by Basepoint’s parent company, the Act Foundation. A family fun day is to be held on September 14 to continue the fundraising efforts.

Centre manager Andrew Weston said: ‘We’re pleased that this donation will help volunteers to continue their valuable work in the community and we are really looking forward to the family fun day in September.’
