GUNWHARF Quays is known for its shops – but visitors will be in for a treat when a series of catwalk shows hits the centre.

Creative Writing and Drama students from the University of Portsmouth will showcase some of the shops’ latest clothes in a bid to inspire shoppers.

As part of the ‘Closer to Fashion’ event, which is being held from Friday to Sunday, fashion expert JP Hevey will give people free style advice.

All visitors that attend the catwalk shows will get the chance to win tickets to Goodwood Racecourse in West Sussex.

Sarah Packer, one of the students taking part in the shows, said: ‘We’re so grateful to be given the opportunity to join in as it’s great experience for us.

‘We hope everyone will come and support us and that they enjoy the show.’

A boutique market with jewellery and antiques will also be on display.

Peter Emery, director of Gunwharf Quays, said; ‘We are very excited about the event.

‘It’s a must for anyone who is excited about fashion or who would like help with creating a new look.’
