LEADING coach firm Lucketts Travel Group has received recognition for its business success.

It was one of 19 companies to be named The South’s Most Ambitious Company at Decision Magazine’s Ambitious Company Awards 2015.

The magazine is aimed at directors of independent companies with a turnover of more than £5m, and judges praised the firm for its ‘desire to build a business of some significance and its ability to think and act strategically’.

The company was assessed along with more than 5,000 companies against strict criteria to make the shortlist.

Joint managing director Ian Luckett said: ‘The past year has been outstanding for us in terms of the recognition we’ve received from industry peers, customers and from awards such as this one.

‘It is a reflection on the hard work being done by our whole team every day on behalf of the company to give our customers the excellent service they expect from us.

‘That hard work has directly contributed to our growth during the past few years, and will contribute to our ambitious growth plans during the coming
years.’

This award builds on a year of success for the firm, which is headquartered in Fareham.

Most recently it was named Large Business of the Year at the Business Excellence Awards run by The News.

Other accolades include a nomination for a Group Operator Award, and being named by the British Chambers of Commerce as the winner of the regional award for Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance.

All three of Lucketts Travel Group’s companies, which include Coliseum Coaches and Worthing Coaches, passed the Guild of British Coach Operators and the Confederation of Passenger Transport’s CoachMarque audits, which are carried out every two years and ensure that coach firms are adhering to best practices.

Lucketts also transported more than 5,000 US Navy sailors from aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, to tourist spots while the ship was anchored off Gosport.
