THE new John Lewis store in Chichester has announced it will be supporting three good causes when it opens on April 5.

They will each get a share of £3,000 as part of the retail chain’s Community Matters programme.

Those benefiting from the first windfall from the John Lewis At Home store will be homeless charity Stonepillow, children’s care organisation The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, and the Chichester Cathedral Restoration and Development Trust.

It will be up to the customers to decide how much each charity receives, and a new trio of causes will be chosen in July to share another £3,000 pot of money.

Claire Dunkason, who is the new branch manager at John Lewis at home Chichester, said: ‘My partners (staff) and I are all very much looking forward to becoming part of the local community and as a business, we hope to be able to make a real difference.’
