A NETWORKING event has not only inspired entrepreneurs, but raised money for charity.

Entrepreneurship guru Robert Craven was keynote speaker at the University of Portsmouth Business School event, giving 10 top tips for business growth.

The event was free to attend but the 150 delegates were asked to make a donation to the Brendoncare Foundation instead, raising £518.

Robert’s top tips for growth in the face of recession include examining what successful businesses do differently and honing networking skills.

The school’s Nick Capon said: ‘We run these free events to encourage the business community to see the Business School as a valuable local resource in new ideas.

‘We benefit as much as them, exchanging ideas on what practically makes a difference.’
