THE firm that sponsors the Southampton Boat Show each September has chosen this year’s nominated charity.

Each year Segensworth shipping firm PSP chooses a cause to support and helps it raise awareness through use of its hospitality suite and high-profile stand. This year’s chosen cause will be the Ellen McArthur Cancer Trust.

The charity takes young people sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer, leukaemia and other serious illness.

PSP’s managing director Frank Dixie, said: ‘The work they do with young people with extremely challenging conditions is inspiring and we are looking forward to supporting them throughout the show.’

Dame Ellen MacArthur said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to further raise the profile of the work of the trust with a key audience and generate much-needed support.’
