STAFF at a chain of shops are celebrating after they clinched academic awards.
Six managers for The Southern Co-operative each achieved a degree in retail from Manchester Metropolitan University. Leigh Park store manager James Shardlow, Sam Bourne, who runs a store in Tangier Road, Copnor, and Kayleigh Thompson, Dawn Johnson, Matt Burnett and Andy Forse from the firm’s head office at 1000 Lakeside celebrated success.
Rachel Hunt, acting deputy manager at a store in Forton Road, Gosport, clinched a diploma in First Line Management, which helps employees who are going into management.
She said: ‘I’ve really enjoyed learning and it will help with my work and career development.’
