WORKERS in Portsmouth are being encouraged to consider a career in the construction industry.

CITB-Construction Skills, which provides training for construction workers in the UK, said it needs entrants to help boost the city’s construction sector.

The training company has sent out the message as part of Adult Learners’ Week 2012, which finishes tomorrow.

Gillian Cain, regional delivery manager for CITB-Construction Skills in the south east, said: ‘We need talented people coming into Portsmouth’s construction industry from different backgrounds and areas of expertise. It is vital that the industry attracts quality candidates at all levels.

‘Mature trainees and entrants can bring a wealth of skills and experience to the industry.’
