A GROUP of volunteers have dedicated their time to give the Citizen’s Advice Bureau in Cosham a much-needed facelift.

The project to refresh the building involved 12 people working tirelessly on a hot summer’s day to paint rooms and hallways in the CAB in Northern Road.

The joint project was backed by two local companies, IMB UK Ltd and Johnson Controls.

Chief executive officer Lynne Davies said: ‘It is a constant challenge to get enough money in to provide much needed free advice services to local people.

‘We spend every penny we can on service delivery and Cosham CAB was badly in need of re-decoration.’

In the past year, volunteer advisers assisted 2,170 people, 11 per cent more than the previous year.

CAB honorary treasurer Andy Stirling took part in the challenge and said: ‘We’re really grateful to everyone who gave their time to take part.’

CAB is a registered charity that offers free advice for people in need of help.
