BUSINESSES are being given the opportunity to help Hampshire County Council tackle its budget deficit - by hiring the council’s unique venues.

The council is offering venues at sites such as Royal Victoria Country Park, Basing House, Aldershot Military Museum, Gosport, Winchester and Basingstoke Discovery Centres, and Titchfield Haven.

The offer comes as Hampshire County Council shaves £3m from its budget for the department of culture and recreation.

A website featuring the venues available is at hants.gov.uk/hire.

Councillor Keith Chapman said: ‘This is a great new initiative to show that HCC is still open for business.’
