PORTSMOUTH City Council is looking for a new trader to sell hot food in the city centre.

The site is in a prime location opposite Primark in Commercial Road and the successful applicant will be expected to trade year-round.

Nickii Humphreys, Portsmouth City Council’s licensing manager said: ‘This is a great site for a high street food trader and Commercial Road has thousands of visitors every day.

‘We’re looking for a company who can provide something different on the high street, so people have a range of choices when it comes to food on the go.

The council has stressed the importance of the new company providing healthy living and recycling messages.

Street trading consents are issued annually from 1 April and cost £1,736.

Trailers must not exceed six metres in length and three metres in height.

Application forms are available by searching licensing at Portsmouth.gov.uk and the closing date for applications is Friday, April 17.
