Council offering trainingcourses to businesses

The sessions, which focus on essential workplace skills, are run by Portsmouth City Council, and are based on its own successful staff training courses.

Prices and subjects are designed to suit local small firms and other organisations.

Courses cost £90 per delegate for a half-day and £180 for a full day.

Topics include coaching, conflict handling, mentoring, insurance, project management, leadership, first aid, computer skills and English for speakers of other languages.

Cllr Lee Mason, the council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, said: ‘For anyone in the Portsmouth area, they’re very convenient, and mean staff can do a course and be back in the office the same day.

‘We believe these courses will help local businesses find success, as well as bringing in much-needed income to the council.’
