A NEW course is giving young people the chance to learn skills to apply for jobs.

Stafford Rhodes Group, in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth, is offering three courses, starting in January, to people aged 16 to 18 years old.

The firm, which specialises in management and business consultancy, is giving young people just leaving school or college the chance to learn important skills for getting a job.

The three-day courses start on January 9, January 13 and January 14 and run from 9.30am till 4.30pm.

While on the courses, the former students will learn how to search and apply for a job and how to prepare for an interview.

They will also learn how to write a CV, covering letter and increase their confidence and self-esteem.

At the end of the course, the young people will have BTEC Level 1 Workskills qualification and will receive three credits and a certificate.
