THE MP for the Isle of Wight has secured a debate about the island’s ferry services in the House of Commons.
The debate, secured by Andre Turner, will take place in the Chamber on October 13 .
Mr Turner will be called to speak and a minister will reply.
He said: ‘I am pleased to have secured this debate and have already spoken informally with the new transport minister responsible for maritime issues, John Hayes MP. I applied for the debate because many people have been raising a range of issues with me about our ferry services over recent months.
‘I will be reviewing their communications before the debate. Over the next few weeks I shall be inviting input from the ferry user groups, the Better Ferry Campaign, the organisers of the “Are Wightlink the Right Link” Facebook page, and the ferry companies themselves.’
