THE final 10-tonne rock of a vast new sea defence has been put into place.

The £17m defences have been built in Selsey, privately funded by the holiday village Bunn Leisure, which sits on a mile of West Sussex beach called West Sands.

The six-month project involved the high-profile sea transportation and positioning of massive granite rocks, sand, and shingle.

Bunn Leisure owner John Bunn said: ‘This is a monumental occasion for Bunn Leisure.’
