IT’S the latest architectural addition to Southampton Solent University and now it’s set to showcase some of the best construction projects across the entire region.

The £33m Spark building has been chosen as the setting for this year’s Solent Design Awards, which applaud show-stopping developments that have been built in the Solent region in the last two years.

Paul Ramshaw from the Quality Places Practitioners’ Group, the group behind the awards, said: ‘The Spark building is a fantastic example of what judges are looking for from entries so it’s the perfect place to hold our celebration evening.’

The 2016 Solent Design Awards launched in June and are open for businesses and local authorities to enter until the closing date on Friday.

The categories for this year are; Quality Residential Place, People’s Choice and The Quality Place. For more go to solentdesignawards.org.uk
