BAE Systems’ Maritime Services and Naval Ships division share dividend has increased by three per cent.

It has released its half-year trading figures, saying continuing business in ship building, as well as support services, has contributed to its stability.

Managing director Andrew Davies said: ‘Whilst manufacture of large sections of the new QE Class Carriers continues in our ship build facility, we have implemented a new naval base management model with customer support, which represents a significant step forward in the preparations for the ships being based at Portsmouth in the future.

‘We have seen a huge increase in the volumes of young people wanting to come and work with us following a successful recruitment campaign which will help us develop our talent and ensure we can continue to deliver maritime capability to our customers wherever they are in the world.’
